A cruise just for the fun of it

Symphony of the Seas at Coco Cay

As a bonus trip this year (as our main trip was only a week), we booked a week-long cruise out of Bayonne/Cape Liberty (about 30 mins from our house) on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas. I had wanted to try an Oasis-class ship (largest in the world until early 2024). We were supposed to stop in Port Canaveral, Florida, Nassau, Bahamas and Coco Cay, RCCL’s private island in the Bahamas. Due to a massive nor’easter, we ended up stuck in Bayonne until very early Tuesday morning instead of leaving Sunday afternoon. This caused us to miss Port Canaveral and Nassau, which wasn’t really a huge loss. We enjoyed the ship Sunday and Monday, effectively having a “sea” day. We did get to Coco Cay, actually early in the day instead of the planned 11am, and we had a great time there, including renting a beach bed (got a good deal on it) which was nice. I posted a bunch of photos (finally) as well.

A Christmas Cruise

Anthem of the Seas

We had a great cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas over Christmas. We sailed from Bayonne, NJ (“Cape Liberty”, about 35 minutes from our house), down to Nassau, Bahamas and then Coco Cay, Bahamas (Royal Caribbean’s private island). We had a great time. It was wonderful to get away for a bit, especially into the warmth, visit a new country, and experience a cruise for the first time.

Of course, there’s a trip report and some photos.
